I moved to the US (from Europe) with a non-immigrant visa (H-1B) last year. I started to work on October 1st 2012.
I work in San Francisco but my office is located in the Presidio (Federal land).
in my w-2 I have 3 amounts in the boxes 12:
12a: code C = 2.16
12b: code W = 450
12c: code DD = 1183.59
I have filled in 1040NR-ez and 540NR Short.
Do these 3 numbers have to show up anywhere in these two forms?
Thanks in advance
Hello and thank you for using Pearl.com
Q: Do these 3 numbers have to show up anywhere in these two forms?
A: In brief, the answer is no, the three amounts that you refer to will not show up on the 1040NR-ez or the 540NR because they are amounts that are not taxable. Following is an explanation of the codes;
Code C: Group term life insurance deduction;
Code W: Employer contribution to health savings account;
Code DD: Cost of employer sponsored health coverage
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you regarding this matter.
Thank you again for using Pearl.com.
